as i understand it. Chicago politicians tried to introduce a May Carry New York styled law and Illinois tried to introduce a Shall carry florida based law and both failed. apart neither side has enough votes to pass either bill and with the 180 day deadline looming I can imagine that constitutional carry might be the only solution

It wil make new york law sensible. Madigan and all his lapdogs will screw the people of illinois regardless of the legalities. In the article, the the cook county sa pretty much says "screw the constitution and the law". Her boss is madigans daughter who does everything daddy says.

The state's attorney you're talking about can only dictate what happens in Cook County. The REST of the state is almost certainly going to be functioning under little to no restriction if that deadline passes. It's going to take more court time before Chicago/Cook is brought into line, if ever.
