    whoa. I <3 drifting.
  3. I'm downloading the full video right now via torrent. I've heard that most of the stuff on his latest video (Ghostrider 4 undercover) is staged. Still should be fun to watch him blasting around on the K5 GSX-R1K.

Do a search for the trailer and you should find plenty of places to download it.

I DLed 3 (final ride?) before. It was huge and actually kind of boring. It was cool, but after 30 minutes of the same stuff (same angles, same stunts, etc.) it gets boring and it's an hour and half long. When he put his turbo busa in the elevator and did a burnout on top of a public building was pretty damn funny though. Or when he backed up to the police academy and did a huge burnout. But You had to skip through so much of the same stuff to get to anything good. Not to mention the horrible Euro-rock crap music. I deleted it eventually. The second disc wasn't bad, lots of stunt show stiuff all edited together. Good for short attention spans.

The Beemer has him in all the turns.

On the straights he's not even trying- he gets up to the guy and just basically idles behind him. That Gixxer would literally stand up and walk away from the BMW if'n it was given a handfull.

I always hate chase scenes in movies (Fled, The Matrix, Paycheck, etc.) that have bikes being caught easily by cars. Gimme a break.

    Just hangin around
To use the shoulder of the road at those speeds is just nuts. That guy must be a real racer somewhere. His throttle control is beautiful to hear. He must have fun.

I have seen that vid and IMO that is complete BS. Every other honost car magazine/show that does a car vs. bike especially ones that have the latest generation of literbikes the bike DESTROYS the car.

A couple of years ago they had one with a Z06 (driven by Boris Said) and a GSXR-1000 (ridden by Kevin Schwantz) go at it. They had full data logging equipment on both of them. The bike was like 14 sec a lap faster on the Willow Springs SHORT track (basically amounted to lapping the Vette every 7 laps). Data logger showed that the only place the Vette even matched the bikes speed was in 1 corner and it was for only a split second.

I don't trust British car mags/shows when it comes to bikes. That is the land of a semi-famous car vs. bike where they claimed a CBR 929 goes 0-6 in 3.8 seconds and runs a 13 second quarter mile. Maybe if he started in top gear, but any Joe Schmo can easily get in the 11's with a bone stock 929 and have 0-60's in the mid 2's.

Yeah, about the only "production" cars that would stand a chance against a hard core Japanese or Italian sport bike are the Porsche Carrera GT, the Enzo, the McLaren and maybe a souped up Noble.

If a race course allows a vehicle to get up to speeds much beyond 190-MPH, then the car would have a chance...assuming that the car can accelerate hard enough to take advantage of the top end speed and the course has long enough of a straightaway for the car to make up time.

Arguably the most explosively accelerating vehicles are those Mercedes V12 AMG. And that's exactly some old fart (probably late forties) thought too when he wanted to race me on my Tuono. Probably the blond floozie with massive fake nungas riding in his passenger seat may have influenced his stupidity. He grinned and gassed the car. I waited until it gets to about a hundred yards, downshifted to 4th and cranked my throttle (we were at around 80-mph on the freeway). I accelerated pass him like he was standing still. I eased off the throttle at around 140 and waved at him and his girlie as he passed by me. Hmmm, wonder why the guy didn't grin so much this time around;Q

I can only imagine what a Jap liter bike would do to these cars. Hell, even a Jap 600, especially the 2006 versions, would have no problem outaccelerate you-name-its.

Speaking of ghost rider, does he still use his naked turbo Busa (the one that does almost 200mph wheelies)? That thing was BAD! Plus he actually had the skill and gonads to ride it to it's limit on the street. All I ever see him using in his new stuff is his GSXR 1k.

    Thanks, good vid.

I was actually surprised the jet (anyone know what kind it was? MIG?) stayed with the Porsche at the launch. I knew it would catch up with both of them. But I know initial acceleration is not a jet enignes strong suit.

Plane is an "Anglo-French" SEPECAT Jaguar, an older light strike plane. Completely empty it carries about a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio. Modern fighters carry about or above 2:1 completely empty, and would pound that Jaguar into the turf in a drag race. I've heard it said an F-15 can be supersonic from a stop by the end of the runway. Never heard that about a 'Busa... ;)

Thats cause youve never ridden one with 600 HP

    ;f ;f ;f

Besides, the Busa is about $43,000,000 cheaper;Q

    Well then, it's on.

    Velocity racing Busa vs. F-15.

If you can arrange that, I will gladly watch (and really wouldn't care about the outcome, that's just good entertainment right there).
