What happened in the election is it has now been demonstrated that we have more people riding in the wagon than pulling it. Its hard to beat Santa Claus. As Rush said, in a nation of children, a candidate running as Santa Claus will always beat the candidate telling you to be your own Santa Claus. I don't think being Santa Claus when we are $16,000,000,000,000 in debt is the answer. Obviously those here lacking in the fiscal sense department disagree with me.

What a terrible thing to say to someone.

From reading your posts here, I think you are probably one of the most selfish people I have ever met, either on the internet, or in real life.

What a miserable human being. You must've been a real peach on the playground back in school, playing all by yourself in the corner while the other kids enjoyed socializing with one another, learning to play on teams, sharing, cooperating, etc.

What part of it isn't true? People who vote to have the government seize money under threat of violence to give it to them or someone else, are thieves, by proxy.:dunno:

Are they too cowardly to do it themselves? Why not just knock on their neighbor's door, stick a gun in their face and demand half their money for their girlfriend's medicine? What's the difference if you vote for a politician to do it for you?

    Thief

I am probably the most charitable person you would meet on a daily basis but I wouldn't dare impose that on you.

"Seize money under threat of violence"?

You mean, "pay taxes as part of the social contract, like in every civilized society that has ever existed on earth"?

    Lols, he must be.

I guess I should ask him for permission next time I drive on his roads, enjoy the protection of his military, have his fire department save my home, turn on the lights and use electricity delivered by his wires, flush poop down his sewer, enjoy a safe flight because of his federal air marshals, patronize his Grand Canyon, etc.

I wonder if he uses these resources to the exact proportion that he pays for them...

    Hmmmm... :headscratch:

Social contract? You have a copy of that?

In the United States 2012, every dime of federal taxes goes to social welfare spending. Not infrastructure. Not Constitutional governmental duties. Not "common good". Straight up welfare. Wealth redistribution.

Now, ask yourself what the government does if you don't pay taxes. Explain to me how it is any less armed robbery than doing it in person.

The socialists types......when they run out of argument about taxes......they love to point to common good infrastructure, completely and conveniently ignoring several facts:

    1. Often times they point toward state and local infrastructure and services.

    2. On the federal level, those things are paid for with debt because their welfare programs consume all of the annual federal revenue.

You want to have conversations about roads and bridges as they relate to taxes, go right ahead. But don't stand their and try to make some sarcastic comment about paying taxes for roads and bridges when what you folks really want is to take money from one person and give it to another, unless you really are that ignorant. And we they object, you will put us in prison and seize our home.

I'd be curious where you got this stat from.

And what the government does when you don't pay taxes is they lock you up in jail, as they should.

You don't get to drive on roads that I am paying for, enjoy the protection of the military that I am helping fund, without putting in your fair share. Simple as that.

I've been paying taxes all my life, and I've never collected a dime of "welfare."

You pay for the privilege of living in the most developed country in the world, or you don't get to enjoy its freedom.

    Here you go Skippy:

Note this is a pie chart of all federal spending, which is of course inclusive of deficit spending. The dollar amounts don't change, just the percentages.

These numbers can all vary $50-$100B or so, depending on the source. Believe me I've looked at a lot of sources and they vary, so we ballpark. The end point is the same.

Total fed revenue from all sources: $2.2Trillion
    SS: $720B
    Medicare: $491B
    Medicaid: $297B
    Safety Net Programs: $360B

Right there you have: $1.868 Trillion

That's only $132B remaining of federal revenues.

    Still remaining:

    "Food"
    "Housing"
    "Education"

Yes, education. Everything from school lunch program to pell grants.

On the most basic numbers above, without getting into details you have

So, no, you aren't paying for "infrastructure" and neither am I. Taxes go to welfare. Congratulations. You folks have made us Western Europe.

Of course it's under threat of violence. Why else would anybody go? You'll either go along with the threat, or you'll resist and be kidnapped, or you'll resist enough and get killed. How is that not violent?

I never contracted to pay endlessly to fund a military all over the world or to drop bombs all over people on the other side of the planet, or to pay for other peoples' retirements, or to pay interest on loans to a private bank with a license to print money that i have nothing to do with.

Federal income tax has only existed about 100 years- but you've been so thoroughly conditioned to believe it is necessary for washington bureaucrats to confiscate your money under threat of violence you're actually defending them for doing it. Think about that for a bit. It is 1000%, one million times out of control of what it was ever supposed to be- a multi trillion dollar monstrosity. It doesn't have to be this way, no matter how many times they tell you it does, no matter how inevitable they'd have you believe their rule is. Read what's in my sig- he talks about how conditioning just like you're exhibiting here is so crucial to their maintaining control.

The stats he mentioned you can find anywhere they list the US budget. Tax revenue pretty much matches those three programs. The rest is borrowed money. With all they've taken and are taking now, they've already spent everything they'll take from your kids' kids under threat of violence too, with no end in sight to any of it. There is no end to it, as long as people keep playing along with the 2 party game.

No need for all that because you will pay the taxes, however unfair you feel they may be. Nobody's convictions are so strong that they'd take prison over a little less than they had the year before. It's just pointless chest pounding.

    Exactly.

Everyone seems to forget that the US Gov't will come and eventually lock your butt up if you don't pay your taxes. Just ask Wesley Snipes.

This is great. He calls you selfish and he is the one voting his way into your bank account. I guess stealing your money is charitable in a retarded democrat kind of way.

So all this chart shows is that a percentage of government funds are mismanaged. How does this equate to government "stealing" from you?

I never said that we don't have a budget crisis in this country, or that government funds are not managed properly. But that is not the same thing as saying that paying taxes is teh same thing as being robbed.
