These progressive Moonbats are dangerous. They have no concept of democracy or what the Western tradition is. They just want to steamroll anyone who objects to their pseudo-religion of secular humanist socialism. This is why they can lie to the American people about Fast and Furious or Benghazi and say that they have to pass massive gov't take-overs of the medical system before the people can even know what is in the bill. They, along with their Islamist allies, are the fascists of our times.

I have no doubt Obama would be more than happy to operate like a third world dictator.

Is this applicable to Progressives on the right and the left or just leftist Progressives?

Actually I think they are fully aware of the concept of democracy and how to use it to their ends.

Regarding the title (which is not Don's, mind you), what does democracy have to do with liberty? God save us from democracy - that most evil form of government.

Our problem isn't too little democracy, but rather too much. De Toqueville was right.

He would if he could. Make no mistake.
  9. The ink wasn't even dry on the Constitution/Bill of Rights before someone was thinking up ways to subvert it and expand governments control over it's citizens. Progressives under the guise of the Democratic Party (and to some extent the Republican Party) have merely been the latest group, for the last 100 or so years, who have been seeking ways to expand governments reach.

Its why Progressives think the Constitution/Bill of Rights is a "living document", why the current President believes the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Why 4 Justices ruled twice that 2A is a collective right rather than an individual right. Why Progressives lie and claim we are a Democracy when in fact we were initially founded as a Republic. A true Democracy is mob rule, and once the government has single payer health care (Obamacare is the foundation of it) and more than 50.1% on government subsidies, it will control the mob.

Yes De Toqueville was right. He, as French political thinker, foresaw the exact problems our country currently face today more than 200 years ago.
