For the kind of money they cost and the quality of the overall gun, why in the hell would they not use steel MSH's? I need or care about hand checkering. Machine checkering is just fine with me. But the plastic MSH thing is pretty ridiculous IMO. Had to vent. I'm in the process of changing out all my Kimber MSH's with EB 25lpi versions and changing out all ambi safties to single sides.

    They aren't alone.

Colt, STI, and some others use them as well.

The top of the line Kimbers use steel MSHs. Same thing with STI and Colt.

I know their so called "custom shop" pistols dont, but not exactly sure which models do/dont. From what I understand, STI uses polymer on the Spartan in order to save weight for competition because they also incorporate the FLGR

Super Carry's are the only one's I've seen with metal. I assume that's because of the bobtail.

I guess they don't want to use a heat gun and soldering iron for blending and checkering.

Just about all their custom shop guns use plastic, only the top models don't.

My Super Match has a steel MSH...

...but my Pro CDP uses plastic.

Its not just the Spartan. The Trojan and many other STIs also use plastic MSHs.

The Colt XSE and STI Trojan both use plastic.

Well, I guess I'd rather have a plastic MSH on my Kimber, than a Fusion that didn't work. :tongueout:

What kind of MSH did you put on your Trojan? I had an EB put on my Kimber that I had hardchromed.
