A couple of years ago I got a nice used Kimber Stainless Covert I from the Custom Shop. This gun was made around 2000.

When I bought the gun it came with one magazine. My question is who makes this magazine??? It's Made in Italy, holds 6 rounds and has an -A- stamped on the other side. Nothing is stamped anywhere else except what you see in the pictures.

The color has a hint of brass to it, it's not quite like my stainless magazines. The quality of the follower is awesome. I want to get some more of these, so if anyone can tell if these are still made, who makes them or where I can get them please do.

Another question while I have a thread open. Do you think this magazine came with the pistol from the factory? Did Kimber at one time use magazines from another manufacturer? See pictures below..

Many times if a magazine company provides the stock mags for a gun they don't put a name on them.

Well after a lot of searching I'd say 99% sure it's Mec-Gar http://www.topgunsupply.com/mec-gar-1911-officers-45-acp-6rd-magazine-blue.html this magazine even has the -A- stamped on the side, it looks identical except it's missing the logo. IF you zoom in on the picture in the link you can see the -A-

The ACT magazines don't have staggered holes in the side, the Mec-Gars do.

    Thanks guys!

ACTs (Novak, NightHawk, S&W, etc...) are also made in Italy.

It's a Mec-Gar in the pic. ACTs don't have staggered holes.

    ETA...I see that's been settled.
