• 🤠 RTF2 background information:
The RTF2 finish was developed after direct feedback from the United States Special Operations community. There are many instances where the environment offers difficult to manage wet and humid conditions. In order to continue providing cutting edge solutions, GLOCK developed the RTF2. The newly designed frame incorporates over 4,000 “polymids" (or raised polymer gripping spikes shaped like small pyramids) on the front, rear and sides (including the thumb rests) of the grip enhancing the users grip and tactile feel for the pistol even in the most extreme conditions. The slide came with a new look to provide extraordinary performance in the field via a newly designed crescent shaped grasping grooves, offering a new stylish dimension to the term efficient improvement. 🤠

The G19/G23 RTF2's were formally announced for release back in November 2009. Although the last RTF2's with crescent serrations look to have been issued March 2011, GLOCK discontinued the manufacture of crescent serrations and reverted back to the regular straight serrations mid 2010. That makes it an 8 month run for the G19/G23 RTF2 with crescent serrations. With the other models and finishes GLOCK manufactured concurrently for that 8 month period, that makes the G19/G23 RTF2 with crescent serrations pretty scarce. 🤠

The G22 RTF2 was first introduced for release in the 2009 Shot Show (January 2009) then the G17 RTF2 was announced for release May 2009. That makes it an 18 month run for the G22 RTF2 with crescent serrations and a 14 month run for the G17 RTF2 with crescent serrations. 🤠

The lowest serial known for a gillie RTF2 is MVExxx G22 (test fired 01/2009). The highest serial known for a gillie RTF2 is PEYxxx G17 test fired 03/2011 (PEXxxx G23C had a test fire date of 12/2010). Anybody who has a GLOCK RTF2 Gills/Curved/Crescent slide serrations with lower serial than MVExxx OR higher serial than PEYxxx, please post your: beginning serial, model and test fire date (if known). Just want to get some definitive statistics on what the lowest AND highest serial that can be found for the gillie RTF2s and when they were released by GLOCK Smyrna. 🤠 Thanks.

Other than the crescent serrations NOT being received positively by GLOCK customers, I would also speculate that one of the possible reasons GLOCK discontinued the manufacture of crescent serrations may be because they are more complex and take longer time to machine than the regular straight serrations.

Let's get an official shout out from all GT forum members who have this very collectible GLOCK. I'll start:

NZNxxx G23RTF2 - with Crescent serrations. Born on Jan 7, 2010 🤠
PARxxx G19RTF2 - with Crescent serrations. Born on Mar 4, 2010 🤠

G17 - 168
G19 - 108
G22 - 165
G23 - 99

This is a great forum. I always check in here to see if here’s anything new with our gilled glocks.

I have 2 brand new 22C’s has anyone seen the price on these?
Are these rtf2 glocks in he blue book of fun values yet?
Dibs! :)

Great additions.

Reading over this I noted:

d) 2 G30 RTF2s & 2 G30SF RTF2s known to exist in FDE with vertical straight serrations only (no gillies are known to exist)

I've reliably heard from the ones at Glock at the time that there are one of each, not two. I know the owners of both and have been offered both.

I am hot on a fish gill .40 cal. It'll likely be my next gun. 22 or a 23.
I am kicking myself, Recoil had 22's for a really fair price but they dried up. I have been checking LE trade in sites daily trying to find another, no luck.
This thread has been informative. I don't need one, hell I have a 22.3 and 22.4 already, but want a RTF. I'd really like to find a 23 in this configuration.

edit - been checking Recoil, Aim surplus, and GT distro daily hoping a new batch crops up. has anyone found other good websites to check. they are on GB, but I do not want to pay full price. small budget, really trying to source an LE trade in <$400.

I just managed to find it:
https://www.kingsfirearmsonline.com/product-details?id=79172#product_detail

I am coming around to the idea of a .45. This is tempting to me. I could enjoy a 21 or a 30. But trying to stick my limited funds to something I am already set up for, like .40. I would have to buy dies, brass, etc. to get started on .45 and don't want that project at the moment. but this is a nice piece! maybe someone on this thread will find it a home?

Never seen pictures of matching serials G22C & G23C no gills RTF2 that prove their existence.

edited to add: if somebody has, please point them out via link or pics and I will update the RTF2 info on the first post of this thread. Thanks.

Dunno where I got the info from. That's from my running wish list. Do you think some of them don't?
I’ve seen no indication whatsoever that Glock 22C/23C RTF2 non gills exist. I would confidently remove them from the list. If they did exist Glockaholic would have 2 of each ;)

Posted a thread 3 days ago in GT General Glocking and Band of Glockers (Philippine Glockers) inquiring if anybody had definitive knowledge of the GLOCK RTF2 models ever being marketed internationally elsewhere than the US. So far, nothing but crickets. With the RTF2’s very short run and exclusively only US marketing makes for indeed a pretty scarce issue from GLOCK. Updated the first post to reflect this tidbit of information on exclusively being marketed only in the US. Will update/correct should I get definitive response saying otherwise.
