looking at just one company who else produces affordable guns in all genres?

    mini pocket auto? LCP

    light weight snybby? LCR

snub magnum that can htame the recoil of magnums? SP101

    service sized wheely? GP100

hunting big game? pick one of many.

metal service caliber semi-auto? pick one, theyve got it.

polymer service caliber semi-auto? pick one of those too.

rimfire plinkers? again pick one of many.

long arms for hunting? rifle or shotgun, they have it, though the shotgun is a bit much.

i know s&w has a similar line up, though many prefer not to deal with their locked guns most of those models can be found in unlocked versions on the used market.

i hear ruger is putting some kind of optional lock under the grips on their revolvers....

so who else but Ruger can cover this as a one company makes something for all?

I have an LCP and a P-95 that are great guns. Reliable, dependable, affordable, American made and like you said a gigantic stable of varying firearms. Plus a lifetime warranty on all of them. Ruger has many detractors, but I guess you can't please everybody. I am definitely a fan!

I really don't care about anything Ruger makes save for their revolvers.

I love my GP-100 & my 10/22. I plan on getting a MKII in the future. Ruger makes a quality, solid firearm.

They have no pump or auto shotguns, they have no slug guns, they have no long range hunting pistols, no lever action rifles, and plenty more. They do have a widely varied catalog, but it's not quite 'all genres'.

I love Ruger handguns. I have an LCR and a MkIII. I think both of them are some of the most well-thought out firearms available.

But when it comes to long guns I'll take Marlin.

good company with plenty of variety in their line up, and most are fair in price. I had a P95, and own a lcp and 10/22, and wouldn't mind picking up a SR9c.

The Mk III is a major PITA to take apart.

I've had hits and misses with Ruger.

Meh, I can take them or leave them. I would say my experiences with ruger is running at a solid 50%.

I like Smith and Wesson much more and have had better experiences. The Smith and Wesson catalog is quite a bit larger than Ruger's.

Now that the bodyguard .380 & .38 are out doesn't smith & wesson fit all those needs?
