Whipped cream tip

    Tonight I had guests over for dinner, and I made strawberry shortcake for dessert.

    I was making the whipped cream just before serving it and realized I had a mere drop of vanilla extract left, not the capful I usually use. I added it, and then added a drop of almond extract as well- I gotta tell ya, it was probably the best whipped cream I have ever tasted.

    Nice idea. Personally I can't stand that stuff (to put it mildly) but clearly almond extract is a flavor that most people seem to like.

    For anyone wondering, almond extract is the flavor of maraschino cherries, fruit punch, and just about anything "cherry" flavor.
