Looking for your guys thoughts on what powder works the best out of this. Im loading 9mm with 124g FMJ bullets. Im on a budget so I really dont want to buy several different powders and do the trial and error thing if I dont have to. Thanks

Most work fine. Even the ones that people are complaining about. It's all about technique. If you settle the powder really good, operate the press for one complete rotation of the tool head, keep it half full and do things the same each time it's accurate with most powders. Perhaps avoid Unique. AA#7 is a very good metering powder in almost anything.

For easy metering the AA powders C4W mentioned along with WW 231,WST and WSF flow well out of the Lee auto disc dispensers.

I know one of my favorite factory duplication loads for 124 gr bullets uses WSF,very accurate. SJ 40

C4W advice is spot on as to how to get the disk measure to be consistent.

I use the disk measure for all my handgun and some milsurp rifle reloading and use only ball/spherical powder.

Light/practice cast bullet reloads get a charge of Win 231, magnum handgun and cast bullet loads for milsurp rifle get a charge of 2400.

Both 231 and 2400 meter well through the disk measure and I even get great results using the adjustable charge bar.

  5. Unique has been fairly crappy... It's workable but I wouldn't call it "good"

Its a flake powder so that would be the cause.

I do have issues with red dot. I use the micro disk though

hp38/w231 is an excellent powder for 9mm, and fortunately an inexpensive one. figure about a penny a round.
