I expect to compete in my firt GSSF match here in Indy. Could enter
either Amateur Civ. or Amateur LE.

Most LEO's I've worked with were lousey shots, suspect it's different
    here.

    Recommendations, please........

I suggest you look at last year's results at www.gssfonline.com and make your decision based on the competition.;)

One thing I would suggest though, is that there are no opportunities at Indy to practice at the match, I would suggest that you enter at least (2) categories...saving your last category for your best round..personally I would enter the Competition first and save Amateur for last....if you are pre-registered....and have gone through an Orientation, and pass out your scoring sheets like advised you can expect a 3 hour stay...things have gone fairly quickly and efficiently at Indy...see you there;a
