\ yes, yes yes. all from a guy whose shot many highend 1911's. and this advice from a guy whose shot many low end 1911's. do they have their faults, of course. all manufacturing facilities do. it mass production. hurry, hurry, hurry. production schudules to meet. but the steel is better, less mim. and for those that don't believe that, google. and this advice comes from a lifelong colt fan whose owned 8 that were flawless since 84 or 85. can't say the same for others. yes they're other very good 19ll's being built, but i am a brand loyal colt fan and it's my first choice always in a sub 1000 gun. same thing for fords. i'm very brand loyal. not trying to start an arguement, jmo. and a certain guy named flipper, with 10 yrs expierence is not going to top a production colt. 10 yrs expierence does not a firearm genius make, or 20 for that matter. this country owes that man it's freedom you must read John Browning, American Gunmaker. fabulous read. don't get me wrong. im not the jealous type who can't afford a highend custom 1911. one at sacs and one a css. damn they are slow. if i could carry a high end it would be bear stinger and a 4in css. name me more than a handful of shooters that can shot a 1" group at 50 yrs offand with a 1in guarantee, and i'll stand corrected. if i were to by a bear or wilson with the 1" guarantee. my 2 in groups at 40 ft serves me just fine in a defensive situation, as it does most folks. again, no rant, just the truth. and these truths come from almost 30 yrs of expierence, not 4 or 5 yrs. please don't degrade this into an arguement. it's just my opinion. which we all know means squat. i bought a kimber pro carry that simply wouldn't funtion. sent it back twice. still, i'd buy another. it's just a bad one that got thru. i l love colts and always will. waiting for the colt haters.
