Which 1911?

Discussion in '1911 Forums' started by District18, Jun 22, 2011.

yes, yes yes. all from a guy whose shot many highend 1911's. and this advice from a guy whose shot many low end 1911's. do they have their faults, of course. all manufacturing facilities do. it mass production. hurry, hurry, hurry. production schudules to meet. but the steel is better, less mim. and for those that don't believe that, google. and this advice comes from a lifelong colt fan whose owned 8 that were flawless since 84 or 85. can't say the same for others. yes they're other very good 19ll's being built, but i am a brand loyal colt fan and it's my first choice always in a sub 1000 gun. same thing for fords. i'm very brand loyal. not trying to start an arguement, jmo. and a certain guy named flipper, with 10 yrs expierence is not going to top a production colt. 10 yrs expierence does not a firearm genius make, or 20 for that matter. this country owes that man it's freedom you must read John Browning, American Gunmaker. fabulous read. don't get me wrong. im not the jealous type who can't afford a highend custom 1911. one at sacs and one a css. damn they are slow. if i could carry a high end it would be bear stinger and a 4in css.

name me more than a handful of shooters that can shot a 1" group at 50 yrs offand with a 1in guarantee, and i'll stand corrected. if i were to by a bear or wilson with the 1" guarantee. my 2 in groups at 40 ft serves me just fine in a defensive situation, as it does most folks. again, no rant, just the truth. and these truths come from almost 30 yrs of expierence, not 4 or 5 yrs.

please don't degrade this into an arguement. it's just my opinion. which we all know means squat. i bought a kimber pro carry that simply wouldn't funtion. sent it back twice. still, i'd buy another. it's just a bad one that got thru.

i l love colts and always will.
waiting for the colt haters. :wavey:

Colts are excellent 1911s, particularly when it comes to extracting and feeding.

Extracting money from your bank account and feed it into Colt's.

    + eleventy billion.
  5. while that may be true of your example, it is not true of 99.9 percent of all examples. the closest example if have of 1911 accuracy is a glock 36. alot have problems, but mine is a shooter, but not 1911 accuracy. no way.
  6. Change your name to anti-springfield loaded. I really don't get why you go around bashing loadeds so often... and yes I've seen it at least half a dozen times. I have one and it looks fine and it's tighter than the springfield mil specs I've shot (friend's not my mine) and it's tighter/smoother than the colt series 80 I had and even the Colt series 70 I've had.

I remember you saying you handled a loaded before and it seemed loose to you. That's what I recall you giving for your reasons not liking it, aside from that you really don't seem to have any evidence, so I don't know what put the loaded turd in your pants. DOn't know it tell you shoot it and to go by one example that could have been poorly fitted seems too uninformed. Also was it a Brasil or Illinois assembled gun?

  7. Again, too vague. Why doesn't it impress you? Seems to be a cult nowadays.
  8. It's probably the full length guide rod. I shot my loaded next to a friend's mil spec and the loaded shot smoother with less flip because of the flgr I can only assume.
  9. Does the gun suck or do you suck with it?

I have a ssmith and wesson 640 and it sucks... actually I can't hit anything with it, my fault not the gun.

You mean you shoot the pattern that good. Most guns are as good if not better than the shooter. Also what is a good load?

I shoot my springfield loaded better than my Glock 22 and Glock 27, so AGAIN remember to say "With me as the operator, I can shoot my Glock over the Loaded any day of the week."
  10. consider yourself lucky. you're one of the lucky 99.9%.
  11. Now are you basing this off six or seven opinions you hear from on a heavily biased and issue exaggerative and brad/gun loyal non-objective website like Glock Talk?

How many loadeds have you shot?

Just curious, but what do you care that certain individuals don't like the Loaded? I have no opinion on it, as I have not shot or handled one.....but if you like it, that's the only opinion that matters. Who cares what anyone else thinks. You just seem to be taking this personally. :dunno:

  13. colts qa has vastly improved over the last several yrs, while kimbers has dropped. their cs is atrocious. at least it was for me. and as far as extracting money from your bank account, i think they're about the same.
your arguments hold little weight. no, no weight.
  14. Obama sucks.

    Reagan is an idiot.

    The Tea Party is lame.

Notice how these viewpoints aren't really backed by anything. That's why. A poster comes in here and asks advice and people give him crappy horrible advice and don't back it up.

    The loaded is horrible.

Well have you shot a loaded.

    Uh no..

    Then how do you know?

    Like dude because it is.

    That's why I care.
  15. That's good. I took my MK IV series 70 Government model to the range yesterday and it shot well. Certainly better than I can, but my loaded still seems a bit smoother and nicer than the Colt.

Good thinking. You should check out TOS. It's all roses and asskissing over there for EVERY brand. As soon as someone posts anything negative, posts get deleted, threads get shut down, people get banned. It's a great place to gush about your favorite company, with little to no recourse.

    Really? :dunno:

I didn't know that; then again, my post count over there is about 10. The place is boring.

So you're sayin' I'd get banned for having this Sig sign over my gun cleaning bench? :faint:

How many times have you been banned over there, Mark?

    [IMG] times.

1911s are compartmentalized by brand, and the members are boring.
