Colt Delta Elite.
Please help me choose.
I think I would go with colt ,the original
No choice, the Delta for sure.
+1 on the Colt
Delta Elite is hard to beat. But, I'd prefer a Wilson Tactical Elite over it. The Gold Cup Match Delta Elite was an awesome 10mm gun, especially for the money.
STI Perfect 10
I would say the Colt. However, I would select the STI Perfect ten over it as Quack has mentioned.
I'd go with the Delta Elite.
Delta, I have a pristine original I adore.
at the same price? take the DW.. the Delta is "ok" but I think with the DW you will be much happier
I gotta vote DW. I know i'll likelly get flamed for saying this, but the colts I've seen lately have been even less fitted than they normally are. Sloppy grip safety, my friend's mim frame safety just broke off and as a whole I'm a little underwhelmed.
He is wise.
I don't buy 10mm 1911s, but I'd take the Colt out of those two.
Colt if you want a collector. DW if you want a shooter. Then again the DW 10's are getting hard to find and commanding high prices.
I thought I might jump on to this thread because some of the feedback seemed like it might help with my decision.
I am considering an STI Perfect 10 or a customized Colt Delta Elite (by a well known top smith). The gun would primarily be used as hog hunting gun and pull range and nightstand duty.
I want a STI Perfect Ten, but it wont happen this year. The only thing that makes me a bit leery is that 2011's seem to be more picky at times then their single stack predecessors. I believe even the one Uncle Ted ran on Don's Wilson vs. STI thread a while back had a failure 4 rounds in. Not something you want to have happen while hog hunting. So I guess given the two choices you provided, I would probably lean towards the Delta - depending on who the smith was, how close it was to what my specs would have been, and price. If we are talking 25-2700, then I would also have to consider just ordering a Wilson.
