I'm going down to Phoenix in July for a convention. I'll be staying at Tapatio Cliffs Hilton, be there for an extended weekend. In support of the AZ BUYcott, I plan to hit a few firearm related stores in the area to search for some stuff I might want to buy and bring back home with me. J&G is already on my list, so where else should I go?

I've also decided I need to eat once at the Heart Attack Grill. Any opinions on their food?

    Scottsdale Gun Club...

They're one of the few 5-star indoor gun ranges in the country. The have dozens of different guns to rent and many more to buy.

If you have time you can have a full-auto adventure.

P.S. I don't know how familiar you are with Phoenix Area geography, but J&G is in Prescott and is a couple of hours north of PHX.

I'm not terribly concerned with having a "full-auto adventure" since I've handled plenty of full-autos here in las vegas. I'm actually driving down from Las Vegas, so anything north of Phoenix is on my way there or home. I've also decided I'm stopping for lunch at Cracker Barrel in Kingman. I might go check out the club just to see what it's like.

Glockmeister is located just south of phx, actually fairly close (3-4 mi) to the area the Scottsdale gun Club is. They advertise on GT, and do some excellent smithing at reasonable prices. Great place to go for all stuff for Glocks. There's also a new Bass proshop/outdoor world about a half mile from Glockmeister with a Famous Dave's BBQ (gun friendly) in the same center as the Proshop.

If you like burgers and fries, cooked the old-fashioned way with lard, Heart Attack Grill is great. It even has bottles of real sugar Coke. Go for it! Southwest Chandler about a mile east of I-10 on Chandler Blvd and Kyrene. Glockmeister is a great place.

J&G is worth the stop, since it's on your way in. Ruger doesn't give tours, so don't bother. Davidsons is a distributor, so I'm thinking that would be a bust, also.

Cracker Barrel flat sucks, and I wouldn't bother. Heart Attack is great food, and a neat experience. Worth a stop.

While G-Meister is excellent, they are nothing more than a small hole-in-the-wall. Nothing to see there, really. Cabela's and Bass Pro, just for the experience, of course...not for their pricing, LOL.
