Awesome you are interested in silat. I do silat myself. I just googled silat in wisconsin and actually found one of the contacts (a student) of my teacher. I dont know how many years he learned but I do know that my teacher is very skilled in silat and known internationally and he has put together a very very good hybrid system. Anyways the guys name is Rik Rodriguez and his phone number is 414 986 3538. I would definitely go check it out and watch one of his classes and observe the techniques. I must warn you you have to be very careful about looking for silat in the us because a lot of people teach something they call silat that is not at all and no one is the wiser because they have never been to indonesia or holland so they cant say "no, thats not silat". Call this guy or check him out FIRST at least and see how he compares. Good luck.
