Where I live in Spain...

Discussion in 'The Okie Corral' started by GlockLassie, Feb 20, 2013.

  1. Of course, i wouldn´t be on this forum if i couldn´t have a glock :)

We can have AR 15´s, any pistol, rifles, shotguns.. etc.

Conceal carry no need for that here, i´ved lived in a few countries (including the US) the level of violent crime here is very low especially where I am. I would never think of carry a gun even if it was legal.

People in the USA dont really want to hear that.

The biggest problem there is here with violent crime is Russians.

I suspect that the russian mob is involved some. There are only a few crossing to southern Europe through switzerland and being near one of the biggest crossing probably means the russians are here for a reason.

But there was a HUGE diamond heist at (was it Brussels). Also dont forget about shootouts in Marseilles

Andalucia is the land of beautiful women and horses.
  4. Hi, I´m only answering your question and explaining a little bit more about the culture and crime here is very low (violent crimes). I was going to apply for the CCW permit in the US but I moved back to Scotland before I could.

But yes the Russian Mafia is everywhere. I know there was a family busted in the Barcelona area for drugs.

There is really no need where I live either but carrying a weapon here is almost akin to carrying a kirpan. It is part of the culture.
  6. I know :) I spent a lot of time living in MS, it was one of the most gun friendly states, well TX too.

If I had stayed longer I would have got my CCW for protection when I was a psychiatric nurse working days/nights.

Great thread and really enjoyed the pictures. I am taking my family to Spain this summer to visit family. Born and raised in the US from Spanish parents I visited Spain more times than i can count. I am looking forward to having my children experience a beautiful country and get to know my relatives. It will be fun!

I went the grocery store and because of this thread was inspired.

I will give it a try tomorrow.

Probably slightly different, but the spanish ham that I was able to find..
  9. Good find, really like Jamon Serrano. Enjoy
  10. The mountain peak in pic 1 looked like it was covered in hoar frost. I went back and looked at it again and realized that may not be what it was. If you'll google hoar frost you will see numerous pictures of it. It's quite common in the Appalachian Mountains of the US.
  11. Hi, it´s actually snow, got a fresh dumping today. Normally at this time of year the mountains would be covered but it´s been unusually warm with temperatures at 75ºF in town.

  17. Beautiful photos.

If I showed pictures here of Malibu, or the Miami coast, would people in other countries think thats what America looks like?

  18. It depends on the people.

My photos are of the Málaga province of Andalucía. I imagine a lot of people will think that is what all of Spain looks like.

What do you mean Norton? It really is hard to encapsulate the essence of a place with a few (even dozens of) photos.
