I have an old egyptian made maadi ak and it blows...
I love the round and the rifle, so I wanna know where I can buy a quality rifle that rivals the kalishnakov and has the astounding ak rep... and lives up to it... also a brand to buy for a saiga shotgun would be awesome.

With some basic tools and common sense........you can convert a 7.62x39 Saiga back into it's AK form, for about $140 for the parts + the cost of the rifle.

So you're looking at around <$500 for a real Russian AK, from the Izhmash factory. (That price would be for a basic conversion, meaning the forend wouldn't be standard AK handguards. It would still be the Saiga handguards. A little more money, and you can use standard handguards, though)

Doing a Saiga conversion yourself is a great option, it's fun, and you get to learn the insides and outs of an AK in the process.

I see you live in eastern Ky. and just outside Louisville Ky there is a little town called West Point. And in that town there is a place called Knob Creek shooting range, and at Knob Creek they have a gun show twice a year and I can guarantee you will find at least one AK that wants to go home with you. And if you take that AK home and feed it well I'll bet that the two of you will be very happy story over.

In short Knob Creek is having a big Military Gun Show October 8th, 9th & 10th 2010. If you are wanting an AK of any kind this will be the place to get it. If you want more info check out this link.

Do not buy Arsenal Inc anything. The owner is a huge Harry Reid supporter. The same Harry Reid that gave us Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagen. The two votes that will turn gun owners into criminals.

    http://www.mynews4.com/story.php?id=28452&n=122

    Full Text Below:

Those in attendance at today's event say Nevada's business community is behind the Senate Majority Leader come November, because they say they believe Reid can do more for the state than his opponent Sharron Angle.

"The issue is Sharron has no experience on the national level, there is no free lunch as they say, it takes time to build stature and influence in the US Congress," said JOHN FARAHI
CEO of the Monarch Casino Resorts.

In Las Vegas, casino magnate George Maloof joined other gambling executives to rally behind Reid. In endorsing Reid, the Palms hotel-casino owner joined executives from MGM Resorts International and Harrah's Entertainment who also say Reid is a friend to the state's business leaders.

Reid is in a tight race against Republican Sharron Angle. Maloof's endorsement is not surprising. Maloof held a fundraiser with President Barack Obama earlier this year that aimed to raise $1 million for Democrats, including Reid.

A list of the business leaders that signed the letter of support follows:

I have had an Arsenal AK for several years now. I got an UltiMak rail for it so I could mount a red dot. Bought a MoJo adjustable peep sight that co-witnesses. It rocks. Original AK sights do not allow the gun to show it's full potential. With good ammo I can get 2" groups at 100 yards. Most other AK's get 4"-6". Never not fired. Cocking the gun is so smooth compared to other AK's it's night and day. Came with a great trigger also. Everyone is surprised when they fire the weapon. Great trigger, good sights, solid hits. Way above some of the junk out there.

O c'mon javedave, the OP didn't ask for your political opinion. He asked for a quality AK, which Arsenal is.

This is a one man operation and he is good at what he does. You will have to check and see what he has in stock, his prices will be a little higher, but you will be hard pressed to find a better AK.

I have had a Rommy G Kit from him and also a 74. Not one problem out of either of them. My 74 will shoot 1" groups at 100yds all day long also.
