I came across one of the gen 3 RTF model19s. Its new in box with the non fish gill slide. Are these known to be as reliable as the "old" gen 3's? I am a gen2 guy but did like the way this one felt. I just dont want any drama. Is this a good one?
Thanks for any and all help.

I'm saying I have six G19's to include three 19 RTF2's, and all this BTF is blown out of proportion. I believe a few weapons may have genuine issues, but the actual ratio is much lower than these BTF threads lead you to believe. It is masked and blown out of proportion by new shooters who are sure it's the gun and not them, and they feed off each other. Put it this way, when someone jumps on a BTF thread and says "me and my wife just purchased our first pistols and we were being pelted with brass" (yes that was an actual post).....I can guarantee you it's not the weapon. Not all posts are as overt as that, but you get the idea.

Thanks guys. I have read the reports of BTF but was more concerned that it wouldnt function(FTF). I think I will put it on hold tomorrow. The price is right and if the reputation is solid, I will get it.

Well,I went back and made my decision. I picked it up and it felt great. I dont usually like the finger grooves on the 19 but the RTF makes it feel good. I put it on layaway. It will be mine in a few short weeks. Thanks again for the help.

    Buy it!!

I put off buying the RTF when they first came out. At the last two gun shows, a certan dealer had ten RTF2 17s. This last show, he was down to three so I bought one. I love it!
I put off buying them because I thought the texture was too aggressive. But now after several months shooting in the hot Southern humidity, I wish I had never waited.

Many believe the RTF2 Glocks are the pinnacle of the Glock design. I am one of those people and I absolutely love my Glock 17 RTF2!
