What's the hole for??

    So it can be wore around the neck? May be a little heavy, but who knows.


    I'm guessing it was a molding thing.

    If you buy a plug for it the plug will clip in on that spot.

    Lanyards have a long history, especially in police/military use. Much less in favor nowadays, but some still utilize them.

    Funny you should mention hanging it around the neck!

    I have a G26 that's definitely designated for the SHTF situation. And it won't be carried in any conventional holster (I have 2 G19s for that). But what I did do was drill out a lanyard hole on the G26 so I can attach a paracord to the gun to wear it around the neck (make sure you have a holster that covers the trigger).

    No way you're ever going to lose that gun, unless you lose your head. :)

    ....and weekend sailors too.

    It's nice to tether the pistol to the belt when out on the water and climbing around on the open deck of a sailboat. I prefer a lanyard that doesn't go around the neck. If I happen to slip I don't want to risk "hanging myself from the yardarm", so to speak. This is the one I use.

    in ye olde days, the pistol lanyard often went over the opposite shoulder and around the body.

    Not tacticool by todays standards, just solid and practical to anyone who NEEDS to NOT lose thier *****.
