I need to get the vital statistics on my sons computer. I probably have the original invoice around here somewhere that might help. However, we have updated the ram a couple times and the video card at least once. He is running win98.

Is there some sort of command or report I can get from win98 that will tell me processor speed, amount of ram, video card, sound card etc?

  2. On my Windows 98 SE PC,click Start>Settings>Control Pannel>System>Device Manager, then click on the devices. For processor and memory ,that info is in Set up in the bios, hit the Delete key at the start up screen on my PC.Yours may be different. You can go to and run the PC test.At the end in the results it will give the hardware profile of your PC.Video card, processor, memory, etc.

  3. Oh yeah tip for Windows 98.There is a bug in Windows 98 where clean up doesn't clean temp files. It's best to install and and run this small program CCleaner

I you have word, open it.
On the right hand side there are some buttons, one of them says, "System Information" Click it.

It'll tell you more than you wanted to know about your system ;f
