what are people carrying in those .357 magnum snubbies and do you know the actual speeds the 2'' barrel produces? i just wonder how many carry hot .38s or full power magnum loads.

I prefer the short barrel loads that Speer makes. I use both the .38spl +P and .357 magnum. Lots of good testing on the .38spl +P load. There was also a 20 page PDF showing how the bullets were specifically designed for short barrel handguns.

Speer 135gr +p GD in my 340. Velocities out of my 642 were in the 870fps range. +P .38s kick enough for me.

I carry 158gr Golden Saber 38s in mine. I don't see the point of magnums in a snubby.

158gr +P LSWCHP. Call me resistant to change. Nice out of a J Frame, and nicer yet with a 3" bbl.

its not about change bro, its about finding something new that does what the old stuff doesnt.

the Remington version of your load has record prooven on the street including expansion from a snubby in human adversaries.

yes, there are plenty of new rounds, modern technology....but they dont do anything better than the Rem. load, except maybe cost more....

Hot Stuff, like they say, it Turbo Charges a .38SPL.
1040FPS energy at 379 ft lbs out of a 2" bbl S&W, not bad at all.
