Looking to buy but don't want to spend any more than $300 but want a good gun.
I have heard good things about those on the list.
Tactical is in the eye of the beholder...
$300 kind of limits your options, add another $100 and they open up a bit more.
Did I ever tell you you have beautiful eyes?
That's about as tactical as I get. 18.5" heavy wall barrel with accu-choke tubes.
Bought the gun for $87 at an auction and paid $69 for the barrel.
Mossberg 500 series shotguns are great firearms!
Used Remington 870. from a pawn shop.
Aren't they all under $300?
I believe this is the 870? Looks like it.
If so, I just bought the 870 in all black. Very sweet gun. Thanks for all the great info.
Look at the Maverick 88. It's basically a Mossy 500 but sells for under $300.
Shotgun 101...You can tell its a Mossberg 500 by the tang safety. (which is always on top of the rear part of the receiver, no safety near the trigger) Also a remington will usually have a more "swoopy" style trigger guard towards the front. Sorry I dont know any other way to explain it lol.
I don't know where you are in Utah, but this place;
has a Charles Daly Tactical for $259. go to "Click here for our inventory" then "Featured Items" on the left, then "August Flyer" and scroll.
Changed my mind.
Nice choice. You can't beat an 870
+1, just what I was thinking, you should find one on the used rack pretty easily.
stoeger coach gun, or anything used
Before moving to California in 1994 --- after the Rodney King riots and aware of the 15-day waiting period --- I bought a Mossberg Maverick 88 pistol grip shotgun for $185.
I hardly ever shot it because the pistol grip is a punishing setup and not conducive for control.
Last month I spent $99 on a Knoxx reduced recoil adjustable stock and now I've got a grand total of $285 in this shotgun. I understand that the Maverick 88 guns with the regular stock are still the same price as I paid sixteen years ago.
The Maverick 88 I have has an 18.5" barrel and holds 5 + 1 rounds of either 2 3/4" or 3" magnum. I've tried it since installing the Knoxx adjustable stock and I do believe I'm going to have a lot of fun with this new setup. Just the other day I bought a box of clay targets and a cheap target thrower, and the cost of 100 shotshells is less than 100 rounds of 9mm WWB ammo.
The finished product looks exactly like this, without the sling. (My next purchase)
Used Mossberg 500 or 590. Great guns!
