Glock 27 (or 26) Gen 3. Can't go wrong with perfection.

I keep a G26 at the family place in another state (it seems to take a bit of stress away not having to check a gun or have to check a bag at all.) With some more time using it and some time with a bunch of others using them without issues, I may be convinced that a Shield is a suitable substitute.

  4. In FL, I would go with a G26. I went to a G29 because of the local bear population.

If I had to just choose one of my poly pistols it would be the Gen 3 G26.

It's hard to tell if concealed carry is part of the equation......that would make a big difference.

A single stack is best for ccw.

    Probably a Glock 9mm.
If only RRA would get their 1911's back to market and make a commander versions...

G27 with the 9mm and .357 Sig barrels and 9mm mags. A great return on your money.

If I had to choose one compact it would be the 19. Since you did not say sub-compact I did not choose the G26. However if by compact you meant compact and sub-compact, I'd take the 26 over the 19.

Walther PPQ or P99 AS. My PPQ forced my Glock 19 into retirement.

G23 with conversion barrels for 9mm and .357SiG.

  14. I could do without the .357 Sig barrel. Is substitute an AA .22 LR conversion kit.

For one hand gun to do everything from concealed carry, to plinking, home defense, and competition gun it could do it all.

  15. wait a minute. I thought the OP said all around compact pistol. I believe that includes shooting matches. why are we suggesting pocket pistols here.
