After all the years of getting up and going to work, do you know what you will do when that time of your life is over?

Some people don't handle that very well. People I work with have told me they were eager to get back to work towards the end of a two-week vacation.

I think I will work some kind of part-time job as long as I can. I might even enjoy golfing again if I can go during the slow hours of the day. I hate busy golf courses.

Of course.... if the economy tanks and society collapses, I may just stay busy trying to stay alive.

I am not sure that day will ever happen. There just aren’t any guarantees of that.

I have plenty to keep me busy. I'll probably work part-time, but only as long as I feel like it. Plus I have many hobbies.

That's assuming I don't have to end up working until I croak for economic reasons.

We have reason to be pessimistic about that.

I'll just, you know, walk the earth, meet people... get into adventures. Like Caine from "Kung Fu."

Maybe run for office? Most officials don't seem to do crap anyway so it shouldn't take much time away from retirement hobbies. ;)

My wife tells me that when I retire, she's putting a time clock in the garage. I have to be out there by 8:00 AM. I can come in the house for an hour at lunch time, then I have to go back out till 5:00.

As she put it, "I loved your father and your grandfather, but I'm not going through what your mother and grandmother went through".

I learned the secret to that snatch the pebble stunt years ago (just slap the guys hand, you'll end up with the pebble, or coin or whatever).

Due to my 401K tanking and my union pension being wiped out "due to bad investments" I have pretty much accepted the fact I am going to have to work until I die or can't stand up.

Being below 50, I will never be able to retire, but it is a nice thought. :crying:
