    Like "End of Season Sale."

    Ugh.

I just clicked another Bass Pro "sale" email.

First, end of season - less than 10% of the items are fish related, over 50% are hunting related. ???? Which season is ending, guys??

Second - ONLY A THIRD OF THE ITEMS LISTED IN THIS END OF SEASON SALE ARE ACTUALLY ON SALE!

I love BPS. I hate these deceptive emails about non-existant sales. Thankfully, I stocked up in person on Friday night using my BPS points. :)

Dick's is the same way. I hate them all. I only shop them because I can put my hands on an item. If I can find it online for significantly less, I'll buy it online.

Everything in their store is on sale. They're offering it for sale, therefore it's on sale.

to me "SALE" means (look at me) Double check amount, compare to price before/elsewhere. It does NOT mean its less then last week.

I hit "delete" on that message.

For internet sales, if it isn't 50% (or more) off, then I'm not biting.

I'm at the point in my life where I "need" nothing. The only time, anymore, that I'll really purchase anything is if it's a really, REALLY good deal.

I'm not cheap, but I've come to the conclusion that I have WAY TOO MUCH **** and it's time to focus on other things than buying more ****.

    Sorry for the mini-rant. :)

On sale means the price has been reduced

Advertised means the price is Just being advertised.

While I might agree. Too dang often the "sale" price is no lower then "regular" price. Or if its a % off they raise the price (from the long standing sale price)

And you know what? It works!

They have you talking about them.
    You still shop there.
You haven't opened your own business that doesn't have "sales" and taken away all their customers.

Oh I love the store. I just hate having to wade through useless crap at regular prices in an alleged blowout sale. I usually just delete them, but was hoping a rod or reel would come up on discount that I'd want.
