What stock for PSA Dissipator Mid Upper

Discussion in 'Black Rifle Forum' started by ColdBlooded, Sep 23, 2011.

  1. So, I just ordered one of Palmetto State Armory's midlength dissipator uppers.

I have two lowers to use/test. A S&W lower with RRA two-stage trigger, milspec buffer tube and MOE stock. I also have a PSA lower with PSA LPK, but no stock assembly. My question is, should I find an A1/A2 fixed stock, or pick up another milspec buffer tube and purchase a ACS/CTR/IMod stock?

If anyone has a Dissipator setup with pics or opinions, I am all ears, so to speak. I am open to opinions, but will ultimately make my own decision.

It's still just an AR. Use whatever stock you want. I'm kind of surprised Bushmaster didn't trademark the Dissipator name. I think they were the first to offer one. Mine is currently setup with an MOE stock.

Last weekend I was shooting next to a guy who had a Dissipator. His had the A2 stock, standard forend and had a carry handle top. Here I am 1 week later building the same gun!

To answer you question, I would use an A2 stock. It looks very cool on this gun!

Another vote for an A2 stock. IMO, they look great on a dissy.

    Alaska, again (for now)
I think either an A-1 or a Vltor club foot would give it a unique look.

There is really only one answer for balance. The Magpul UBR!
  7. Thanks. I was planning on going with an A1/A2 or a CTR. I would like to find something in OD Green.

This is a mock up of how I want it to end up:

A2 stock is too long,Magpul ACS stock would look great and still be adjustible.

I have a post ban Bushmaster Dissipator A3 upper and I use a T6 collapsible stock with a rubber butt pad. I'm 6'3" and find extending the stock to max combined with the slip on butt pad is the perfect length for me to hold the weapon eye level with BUIS. And when its time to put the rifle back into the case I can collapse the stock and have plenty of room left over for all extra toys (mags, scopes, etc.) to fit along with it.

    I like the top rendering.

I don't change he length on my M4 carbine so I don't see the value of having the adjustment other than for easier stowing of the gun.

Does anyone make an endplate sling adapter for the A2 stocks?

    In my shop
I like 2 or 3.....but it is just a personal preference.
  13. Thanks for your ideas. I already have an empty lower with MOE stock and one with and ACS, so when my upper arrives I will see how they feel. I will most likely want something heavier than the MOE, and extremely simple.

I don't think a dissipator warrants a radically different stock than whatever your normal preference is. Maybe something a tad heavier to counterbalance the long handguards and extra gas block. For a collapsible, I like the EMOD. A1 Modstock for fixed.
