I'm hoping to buy my first shotgun by fall 2010 (starting to hunt). I'll probably be getting a Remington 870 because of its versatility, according to posts on GT and friends I've talked to. And yes, while the main purpose is going to be hunting, it would also serve as a primary HD weapon since all I have right now is a couple of pistols. I've seen pictures of shotguns with a pistol grip for the trigger hand, some with a pistol grip-looking thing for both hands, and the more "traditional" looking kind. What do you prefer, and more importantly, what have you found to be the pros and cons of each? All of the shotguns I've fired are more "traditional". Hopefully my wording was clear enough that y'all know what I mean... ETA: Some seem to have stocks while others don't. I'm 99% sure I want one that has a stock... While I'm sure I can go to my local outfitter and feel them out, that won't give me much of an indication of how I handle it with live rounds... Wanna kill these ads? We can help!
