I have a simple G2 led on mine. It has held up just fine.

I avoid pressure switches - I like a simple "on" light.
    a) No tangled cords when pumping
    b) One job - ID Target and shoot

The last thing i need to be doing is futzing with a switch. One more problem to happen that I don't need. I need to be focussed on ID/Decide/Bang and that is all.

There is a crowd that will be all over "You are giving your position away" I recognize their view.

I prefer the view that I can't see in the dark, I don't train with the SWAT team, I don't want to make a mistake at any cost in NOT IDing a target correctly, I have enough to focus on between basic shooting and adrenaline, and if knowing I'm coming scares you away so we don't have to do this - good!

I don't know if they make lites designed to mount on guns, but I'd imagine so - I've been very impressed with my Fenix flashlights. Bought an LD20 first and it was so good that I bought an LD10 this year. Continuous brightness regardless of % discharge, reliable and robust.

Except you have to grind off the bayonet lug on the 8+1 590s...

The OP has a 500 and not a 590 and plus there are some Surefire Forends that that will fit the 20" 590's without removing the bayonet lug.
