I have over a dozen good quality "one handed" or "assisted open" knives and I wouldn't be without one. the same with carrying a Gerber multi tool because it is the easiest for me to opne with one hand. Just last night I was going to pour a bag a feed in a feed bin and I already had it up off the ground in one arm. I would have had to set it down and use two hands to open a knife to cut it open if I hadn't had an assisted opener.

This Christmas I "retired" my SOG FlashII, and replaced it with a Kershaw Whirlwind.

New acquisitions, one of which will make it into the EDC rotation.

I'm hoping to have both signed by Mr. Janich this weekend.

Chris Reeve Sebenza. Have had it since 2000. Best knife I have ever owned. It is a working knife, and sharpen it as it needs it (about once or twice a month depending on how much I have used it opening boxes, cutting rope, you name it) on ceramic rods.

I carry a Kershaw 1660 when I am away from the house. At home I carry a Leatherman folding knife, it is much more work friendly. When I am out hunting or shooting I carry a fixed blade Ka-bar. I have others but I think the ones above work best for me.

Benchmade Ritter Grip or Strider SNG.

I love the Ritter Grip because of the weight to size ratio. It carries great and the S30V blade takes and HOLDS and incredible edge.

This thing is so light I have to keep checking to make sure I did not lose it. Best bang for the buck VG-10 steel, not bad.
