Gen 3 19c - Winchester ranger in right now
If I find a deal on a proven ammo then I stock up.
Glock 23 gen4 and G22 Gen4.
Winchester Supreme Elite Bonded PDX1 40 S&W.
My absolute favorit.
As a Newbie, I'm not sure how to decide between 124 and 147gr. Why do you carry the 147g?
In the wheel guns I like the Winchester Silver Tips and in the Glocks I like the Speer Gold Dots. But there are others out there that are great.
G19 or G26 Speer Gold Dot 124 grain JHP
Winchester Ranger T series 124 gr +P in a G19
Mod. 21 with Remington Golden Sabers. (230 gr.) I like the low-flash powder.
Be aware that there's a difference between 124gr and 124gr +P. The +P is more powerful. As long as you buy quality defensive cartridges like many of those mentioned in this thread, you can't go wrong with either 124gr +P or 147gr, don't over think it. Some folks, especially older ones, just prefer the heavier, slower moving bullets over the lighter and faster ones, same reason why so many people still prefer the .45 ACP.
Well during the colder months I carry Winchester Supreme Elite Bonded PDX1 .40 S&W 165 Gr. and during the warmer months I carry Winchester Ranger .40 S&W 135 Gr.
Glock 19 with Gold Dots for the wife
Bed gun will be Colt 1911 .45 - need to decide on ammo
Currently Glock 23 with Federal HST's...
Glock 29 10mm
180gr Controlled Exp
Speer GD 124gr +P, have not found anything that outperforms it consistently yet.
Glock 17 9mm.
124gr. +P Speer Gold Dot.
I like the fact that it's a bonded bullet. All tests seem to indicate that it performs well in tests with most all media. I think the only thing I can think to say about the round that would detract from it is that the French use it.
9mm - 124+P Gold Dot
.40 - 155gr Gold Dot (sometimes 165gr Gold Dot)
10mm - Double Tap 180gr Gold Dot (sometimes 175gr Silver Tip)
.357 Sig - 125gr Gold Dot
.45 ACP - 200+P Gold Dot (sometimes 185gr and 230 gr Gold Dots)
230 grain Golden Saber. I really like that round...and it feeds very well through my pistol.
Depends on what I am carrying at the time.
Most of the time...
9mm...115 hollow point Remington bulk 100 rnds from Wal-Mart. Its old hollow point technology but they have tweaked it a little and its good stuff.
.45 acp.....230 grn HP Winchester WWB...again Wal-Mart.
.40 S&W....130 grn HP Federal HST.... very accurate out of my G27.
.40 S&W....165 grn HP Winchester Ranger....easy to shoot out of my G27
I will now be carrying my new to me G27 all the time now.
G26, Federal HST 147gr. Best 9mm round I have found so far!
