"On the first day of Christmas my tulip gave to me"

"Later on we'll perspire, as we dream by the fire"

"He's makin' a list, chicken and rice"

    "Olive, the other reindeer"

    "Sleep in heavenly peas"

"In the meadow we can build a snowman, then pretend that he is sparse and brown"

    "You'll go down in Listerine"

"Oh, what fun it is to ride with one horse, soap and hay"

    "Oh, come froggy faithful"

There's two I remember from being a kid...

"Oh come, let us a-door Him" (as if getting nailed to a cross in thirty-some years wasnt' bad enough)
"Roof-off the red.nose reindeer" (what with that and getting hit with the door, no wonder his nose was bleeding)

I never understood all the violence in Christmas songs, when I was four. But that is exactly what I imagined, hearing those tunes.
