what is the best load for glock 17?

    hi mga kuyang! could you guys give me some info on what bullet weight to use on a 9mm and what powder? i bought a glock 17 and hopefully it will be out in 3 weeks. i'm not yet familiar with the g17 i have been shooting a 1911 for 12 years. ;g

    +1 to the suggestion of 9MX. And if you want to spend less effort in cleaning your barrel after shooting, use teflon heads or copper coated.

    is it cheaper than the fmj? what stores has them?

    Copper coated is plated and is different from fmj. Mas mura rin sya. Meron sa stronghand.

    If someone wants to shoot fmj, the cheapest reloader would be Armscor. 6.00 each per fmj reload, you provide your own shells.
     
  6. In my experience, copper coated bullets leaves more leading than lead bullets in my Glock 17.

    Use teflon or fmj bullets if you have an original Glock barrel. Better yet, if your budget allows, buy an aftermarket barrel for your G17.

    KKM and Barsto are good after market barrels.

    But be aware, if you use after market barrel, and IF the Range Officer catches you, you will be bumped off to open division from production division....

    But you can use the aftermarket for practice and use the stock for competition.

    trust trade pa rin ba ang cheapest para sa glock parts? o baka naman may discount pag kila Dino hehehe
    do you guys use an extended mag release for your g17s, this is legal sa production,right? was planning to change mine kasi

    Stick with the stock dre and practice with it. Malalaglagan ka ng mag eventually kung mga table-starts. ;)

    special condition # 20 of Appendix D4 of the IPSC Handgun Competition Rules (Jan 2006 Edition) states that:

    "20. Aftermarket parts, components and accessories are prohibited, except as follows:
    20.1 Aftermarket magazines which match the external dimensions of standard magazines offered by the OFM
    for the approved handgun are permitted.
    20.2 Aftermarket sights of the same type and kind offered by the OFM for the approved handgun are
    permitted, provided their installation and/or adjustment requires no alteration to the handgun.
    20.3 Aftermarket grips which match the profile of the OFM standard for the approved handgun and/or the
    application of tape on grips is permitted, however, rubber sleeves are prohibited."

    No worries..... Use the Glock OFM extended mag catch. ;f

    Appendix D4 of the IPSC Handgun Competition Rules (Jan 2006 Edition)

    19. Original parts and components offered by the OFM as standard equipment, or as an option, for a specific model handgun on the IPSC approved handgun list are permitted, subject to the following:

    19.1 Modifications to them, other than minor detailing, are prohibited.

    19.2 Base plates and/or any other devices which provide additional ammunition capacity (e.g. "+2" magazine extensions), are prohibited.

    19.3 Front sights may be trimmed, adjusted and/or have sight black applied.

    yun nga eh,ang daming interpretation nung rule, that's why i haven't change my g17 sights into heini,although i've already bought it.dito lang yata sa pilipinas may problema sa rule,cause what i've heard and read in the internet, puede;9

    Specifically, copper coated heads made by Stronghand. Their plating is too thin and soft.
