I got to handle one of PB Dionisio's Ranger Pistol with the so-called Black Diamond Finish a long time ago and find it a good alternative for a black finished pistol. I'd like to ask everyone if you have any ideas on the finish. It is aesthetically appealing to the eye and the rough, stippled sort of feel is very nice (like skkateboard tape). Will it affect lubricity? How about rust resistance? Is it good or better than blueing? hard chrome?

They are charging P 4,500 for a 1911 pistol. Not bad though.:)

    Thanks for all your inputs.

Hindi ba polymer (epoxy?) paint at oven cured yung mga "exotic" finish na iyan? Katulad nito?

I had a short talk with Churchill on the phone yesterday about this finish. He told me that the black diamond is no longer available since they ran out of the chemical/s being used. He also told me that the pistol is more prone to rust due to the hand's oil and dirt ebing trapped in the finish. The finish has a "sandpaper" type of feel to it which just proved to be problematic when you clean the pistol. He told me that the finish is more durable than blueing but not as good as hard chrome. FYi.

Mas bilib ako sa mga epoxy/bake on na ganyan, why?after playing with my Browning Hi Power(naka matte black bake on finish) I don't need to wipe it down with an oiled cloth like my Colt, wala ka makikitang rust even after a week of storing,I can't say the same thing however with the Colt(Blued).Pero, wala na gaganda pa sa blued 1911.

    Regards ;c
