I know it's hard to say without handling it. I get different prices off several websites.I paid $250.00 from a private seller. I am really curious what is a good guess as to what it is worth. I am hoping it was a good investment. I've put fifty rounds through it and it shoots just fine.

I'd expect to see that priced betweem $450-550 around here. Depending on condition and the seller.

    You did good, Congrats!

Thank you. Do you think these revolvers will increase in value with time?

I have had one for several years now and it is one of my favorite caryy revolvers. The blued version (Mod 13) was the last revolver issued in the FBI. A friend of mine was an Agent and I fell in love with it at first cylinder.

As to your question, all quality guns go up in value over time. Inflation sees to that. Right now the price on 3" 65's is IMO at a temporary crest due to increased popularity, due to the CCW laws. Someone had a bunch of LE turn ins listed in Shotgun News recently for around $325-350 (IIRC) and they went fast. I think they are considered a "premium" among fixed sight .357s and there is no reason they won't keep that position.

It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

    $400 and up around here.

Your price at $250 was a great deal at least compared to around here. I saw several K frames last weekend that were marked at 650-750. My guess is that the next few years will see K frames increasing faster than other guns, but I have been wrong before.

Most any S&W 3" will always hold some value for some S&W collectors and shooters... for obvious reasons. The US dollar will continue to depreciate... for obvious reasons. 2 + 2 = 4 (most of the time)

Value now is $250 'cause that's what you got into it (doh Baba). Easily worth more IMO when the time comes to sell (heaven forbid). I personally value blue steel more than stainless, but that's a personal preference.

3" K Frames are "Just Right". Justly so. How did you like shooting it? .357s or .38s? Both?

You know the issues of the K Frames shooting 125 gr .357s so that might be their weak point... maybe.

Nice 65 you (ahem) stole. I'd LOVE to find one for twofiddy. Be my lucky day. As it was yours.

the 3 " barrels are very popular and was not a very common barrel length in production so that will put the gun in the 400 dollar range. if it was your typical 4 inch police or security company trade in then 250 would be about typical at least for my neck of the woods

You got it cheap. Retail I could get $500. If it is as nice all over as what I can see in the picture.
