What holsters (if any) are made with "softer" leather on the inside?

I know there are a million posts out there for 1911 holsters and even more responses to those posts saying that wear is character but I was just curious if there are any leather holsters that will "minimize" the wear on the slide...

I know if you EDC, you are going to get some wear but are there any nice leather holsters (IWB or OWB) that don't really cause much wear on the slide? Maybe ones that are lined with a softer leather? Just curious...

    Thanks in advance, guys!

    Safariland makes suede lined holsters.
We are warned that the suede will hold grit and wear our guns' finish but if you keep them clean they are really pretty gentle. I used a couple in IPSC and IDPA until the Kydex Revolution and they were easier on the guns than modern plastic. Heavier, though.

    Oh, USA
There used to be a company that offered glove leather lining in their holsters. When I get a few minutes I will try and find something about them.

I see that these guys make them lined with smooth leather. I still can't remember the other company. The holsters were distinctive because the lining was light and showed at the top of the holster where it was stitched to the outer leather.

I have a Galco FX that's suede lined. This is an OWB holster & is very soft inside.

    right here
Milt Sparks "Summer Special II" uses the smooth side of the leather inside the holster and the rough side out. That said, any holster is going to cause wear, ANY of them.

Holster wear makes your 1911 look even better.

I will say I've had a hard time earning holster wear with my Kramer IWB...

    I agree.

  10. Keep in mind it is easier for hard foreign matter to embed in the soft leather. Get a bit of grit stuck in there and it will scratch the pistol every time in or out.
