So someone who disagrees with gay marriage is a proponent of domestic violence, racism, slavery, and genocide?

    Alaska, again (for now)

I guess perhaps, some of the proponents do.

I'm simply a bystander. I couldn't care any less what two adults do, or who they find attractive/compatible.

Some guys like fat chicks, some guys like skinny chicks, some guys like other guys.

Why do you care, who someone else sleeps with?

As long as they're willing to leave me alone, and let me live out in the boonies with too many guns, my dogs, and my beer, I'm content to let them do whatever it is they feel is their god given right to do. And who he plays hide the sausage with, is hardly my concern.

To the OP, Gay Marriage, Abortion, and Religion (Above sep church and state)

    Gay rights....

If they want to miserable as everybody else so be it.

    Pro choice....

IMO no one should be able to tell a person what they can/can't do to their body.

Businesses that do not recieve public funding and eoe. Marriage and children benefits etc etc.

I don't care what people do in private.
    That's libertarian, not liberal.
    (Still call myself conservative.)

As you can see here most everyone can agree on many things. There are always going to be thing we disagree with each other on. We should fight like hell for our beliefs. However at the end of the day we should also focus on the tings that can bring us together.

Not a damn thing of it. In fact the more I learn about marxist, leftist control freak statists, the more offended I get. The idea that any of these concepts even appear relatively harmless at first is usually part of the deception, meant to take in the gullible and naive. Eventually its all a rain of ruin. Socialism is usually most attractive to those who don't think.

This thread illustrates why the republicans keep losing.
I typically vote republican, but the same theme played out here played out in the last election...which is why we have a tard in power.

I am in favor of legalizing dope. We tried the outlawing/war on drugs/prohibition thing before and the results were worse than the problem we were trying to solve.

Pro gay rights- though I don't buy this crap about it being a civil rights matter on the level with the Civil Rights movement of the 60s.. It's about weird folks wanting to be weird as long as they aren't infringing on others rights. Fine with me, but you're no Rosa Parks, so STFU. Paint your poodle pink, whatever. None of my business.

Environmental protection. I'm not on the Al Gorebal Warming bandwagon and don't care for SF or Seattle type plastic bag taxation, forcing people into mass transit circlejerk projects that end up driving business away and all the usual products of militant butthurt councilpeople running our major cities these days, but I do like seeing monies and resources being more focused on cleaner technologies and renewable resources at the federal level... IMO it will pay dividends to reduce or need for overseas oil and create more jobs/economies here. Screw the middle east and other little pricks like dearly departed Chavez.

How this qualifies as liberal is only coincidence since I actually believe it enhances our freedom, unlike what the bedwetters who call themselves 'liberal' really stand for.

I don't. Whoever they sleep with of their own volition is their business. However just as well, I don't wish to be inundated via a radical Leftist Press and the "Hollywood homos" (James Carville's words) that it is a "normal" lifestyle when it's clearly not or how else did we get here?

What's next on the Liberal agenda? Pedophilia? We've raised a generation with no shame that has given us the current POS in the White House and his minions who are completely devoid of any moral codex except that with which to maintain power. Only apparatchiki such as this would be able to deny the correlation as well as their opiated followers.

    Refuse the Kool-Aid. :wavey:

Hell I "get" why liberal voters want gun control. They think it will save lives. However, those folks don't seem to understand why liberal politicians want gun control.

Actually, I like to think I get where they're coming from on most issues as I try to do with all people.

I think this is mostly true, and unfortunately it doesn't seem like too many folks do know these days. However, I think the ideals of freedom can be taught and learned just as embracing the state has been.
  15. At the end of the day it's all about control. People who want to control what others do in private aren't interested in freedom for everyone - they want to be free themselves while forcing everyone else to dance to their drum.

My advice would simply be to go learn another instrument and leave everyone else the hell alone.

If people don't want to hear about it, then don't watch the news. Don't pay attention to hollywood. As soon as you choose to become involved in what others are doing, you lose control over what you are exposed to. Welcome to freedom for others, too.

I get the idea of taking from the rich, I mean Dillinger robbed banks "Cause that's where the money is". I understand that if I was on the "bottom" half, with no prospects, I would agree that taking money from the rich was a good idea. I understand that the realization that I was ultimately wreaking it for everybody would not be my first concern. If my "bird courses" in sociology and political science rendered me incapable of doing anything but a meaningless government job, I would be in favour of big government. I know where lieberals are coming from, I'm just glad I'm not one. I understand that killing babies in the womb can be in many instances a logical decision for a lot of people. I just can't get the lieberal lies about it, I guess lieberals are weak, that's why we have to carry them, and protect them. But what I don't get is how lieberals think we will be able to protect them, and feed them, without guns. Maybe the multi-billionaire Hugo Chavez had the answer.

Gay rights- No one should be made a second class citizen because two consenting adults love each other.

End war on drugs- it doesn't work and never will it has created a huge overreaching government, that constantly violates the 4th amendment in its pursuit of drug of prohibition.

Abortion- Certain abortions as I don't want the government making medical decision and if all these unwanted children are brought into this world who will pay for it all.

Strict separation of church and state

Reducing the ever growing war on terror

I don't understand people who claim the lefts socialist ideas are to control and restrict the freedoms of this country while telling gays they can't be happy, telling people they can't consume plant etc..

    1. Gay rights - if they want to choose their eternity, let 'em. Just don't push it on me.

    2. Drilling for oil on federally protected wildlife preserves - I'm all for oil independence, but we have plenty of domestic drilling opportunities we can exploit without setting foot on protected lands. That would be a dangerous precedent to set, IMHO.

    3. There is no #3.
  20. So many people don't understand how the progressive game works, we started with gay unions, which I had no problem with, then gay marriage, gays in the military, now we have people wanting transgender Marines. I just read about a transgender first grader whose parents were upset that he couldn't go to the bathroom with the girls.

Are you with me so far? Remember about slippery slopes....

After we have gay marriage how about polygamy? NAMBLA wants to legitimatize man-boy love, how long until marriage?

    Remember about slippery slopes.
