I am going to be purchasing a 17L slide from Lone Wolf, I'm wondering what people's opinions are on the available sights.

I am just going to use it for target shooting... a range fun. I'd like to put some nice sights on it.

Dawson, Warren Tactical, 10-8 come to mind.

It's hard to beat a quality set of steel sights.

I like the stock fixed sights - I have found them to be very accurate.

For carry purposes though I have trijicons on my g30 and bigdots on my ac commander

I'm using some trijicon HD's. I like them over the stock sights quite a bit.

I actually quite like the stock sights. I didn't at first but after getting used to them I think I like them better than a conventional 3 dot set up. If I were to replace them I would go with a black rear and fiber optic front like a set of Dawson's.

All black Warren Sevigny Competitions. Narrow front blade in wide rear notch... helps to "fine tune" sighting in on distant (25 yard or more) targets.

No dots, no lights... just plain and simple notch and post.

I still like that U-shaped white thing on the stock Glock sights better than any other aftermarket rear sight out there. IMO, almost all of them are a "downgrade" from the originals - and I'm including all the various night sights in that statement too.

I think the Glock notch / U rear sight setup was a horrible idea, if anyone has learned to shoot well with it then kudos to them.

I am leaning toward this - I do want adjustable sights, but I think the plain black sights have been underestimated with all of the new technology. I used to have a BHP - no dots or anything, just a plain notch in the rear and a blade in the front, and it was a very accurate pistol that was easy to zero in on target.

I use the WT carry-comp black sets. On my 17L (LWD) slide, I had an adjustable rear for a while - it wouldn't go low enough to use with the front post I had, which I bought set up for a 17 (I forget the height of the front post). I like an adjustable sight, especially on longer barrels, but the plain solid sights work so much better for what I use my slides for that I just use those now (same sights with figure 8 green rear/dim yellow front (or is the order reversed?) for my G26 carry gun).

If you have a crap-eating dog have you tried putting MSG (Accent), in her food?

We had a dog that started doing that and the MSG stopped it.

I have the Trijicons on another G30. At night they are just as bright as the TRUGLO's But during the day, the TRUGLO's are fReAkY Bright as well. LOL

I have a set of Warren sights on my G34 and absolutely love them. They shoot to dead zero as long as I do my part. I have a pair of adjustable Dawson Precision steel sights coming Thursday that will go on my G24. One or the other will win out and be what I put on my new G35. We'll see. But a plain old steel notch and blade are hard to beat for precision shooting.

I've got a set of Heinie straight 8 night sights and a set of Trij's, I prefer the Heinies really intuitive sight picture.

Narrow front blade, all black rear. Manufacturer of your choice. A thin fiber optic or gold dot front will help your speed a bit. It may or may not help or hinder accuracy.

I had a set of Dawson's that I dearly loved. Unfortunately I didn't love the gun they were on so much and they went as part of the deal.
