Looks like Turners Outdoors here in CA got the first Colt AR's in. They are CA legal 6920's with one 10 round mag for $1169. With the tax and all the background fees they will most likely be on the other side of 1300 bucks. I have always wanted a Colt for the historical aspect. But I have a hard time throwing down that kind of money for one rifle when I could build two solid guns for that price. For 1300 bucks I would much rather save 300 more and get another Springfield M1A.

Do they have to have the bullet mag release button? What makes them Ca. legal?

Bullet button and they are marked "M4" which is not on "the list."

    See flowchart for details.

The flowchart is responsible for probably 100K AR lowers being sold in CA after the ban.

Most LEOs in CA think Colts are illegal, might have to do some talking on your part to convince them otherwise if you get stopped.

Good that Colt is coming around and selling complete ARs in CA. Thing is 6920 and 6940 uppers have been available for a while there, with a good lower and stock its the same darn thing. No Colt name printed on it to argue with LEOs about either.

Why let SW have all the sales in California? It's a smart move on Colt's part.
