Finally got 1000 rounds through it over the past 4 days. I have to admit I did cheat a little, I cleaned out the breechface and feedramp a few times throughout the shooting sessions. But she was DIRTY!!! The rails of the gun that are black, are really silver!! Through 1000 rounds, the gun did not have one malfunction and is simply put- a tack driver. Have not got the scores back from my first local IDPA match of the season, but Im pretty sure I took CDP and probably high overall for the match( even though IDPA doesnt recognize that). The AT on the gun is awesome!! No signs of any wear externally, minus the magwell, and maybe 2-3 small polished areas internally. I am loving this thing soo much. Its fed perfectly with any type of ammo Ive fed it. The last 400 rounds I ran through it were some NASTY lead 230 RN I loaded up, the bullets were from the late 70's/early 80's and really gummy, the WC worked them through like it was some premium grade ammo running on a fresh clean and lube!!!! Im a happy camper

Ya took longer than I expected. We took a weekend off from the gunshow and had some time to do something I enjoyed for once LOL

Damn. I saw the words dirty girl and other things crossed my mind. :whistling:

Instead I saw a Wilson that needs a cleaning.... Nice gun, how much did you shoot?

Nevermind, I saw your post. Both typing at the same time I guess.

That's a damn good lookin' gun. Add some lube, put it back together and keep shootin' it.

I think most people would be amazed at how dirty a 1911 will run if they have plenty of oil in 'em. Even a super tight Baer.

Appreciate that! Did that earlier today. It normally takes me about 15 minutes to clean a gun, the WC took about an hour LOL. Everytime I thought it was done I'd wipe a little more and get another completely black patch haha. I project running anywhere from 6-8k through it this year between matches and practice.

You are right about the running. I used WC's ultima lube initially and added a little bit along the way( not needed, but wanted to keep it all wet and juicy. Then yday I shot 200 rounds through it during an IDPA match and reshoot and was about to clean it when i got the call about shooting again today, I then decided just to shoot a little CLP into it and bag it back up. Once I got about 15 rounds through her today, dirty oil was running down the silver AT frame like a girl getting in the shower with too much eyeliner on! It was interesting because Ive never ran one that wet or dirty before. My brown leather lined Garrett holster was definitely not happy about it though.

Some much for the theory that 1911s are fragile little china dolls that fail the moment you take them out of the safe. I wouldn't mind cleaning it after 1000 rounds of shooting joy with the 1911.

You are very correct. I was even a little skeptical until the round count started getting up there. Ive never taken a 1911 that far without cleaning before so i was impressed with how it performed.

Got the numbers back today from the IDPA match. 2nd overall, 1st in CDP. I did alright but the gun was lights out!
