    Good read, but already dated by the time the article went to press. Many of these 'problems' have been solved, just not trickled down to the boots-on-the-ground.

    The article stated that the problem with the .300 WinMag is with availability. Thing is that a sniper rifle chambered in 7.62 NATO can not use standard ammunition, it must use match grade ammunition for best performance.

    The only problem I see with ammo availability is with some officers and NCO's that are trying to foist standard 7.62 NATO ammunition on snipers so as to make their job easier. Their desire is for snipers to use delinked 7.62 machine gun ammo rather than match grade ammunition.
