I am wanting to purchase a Glock and i live in Texas.I wanted to ask about purchasing 1.I have a misdemeanor assault charge from ten years ago.Penal Code 22.01(A)(1)(Assault w/bodily injury). This is the only charge on my record. Will this affect my ability to purchase a gun?

Try it & find out. Go to a gun store & have them run you. With an NICS check it should only take a few minutes. Your reward for passing the check - a new Glock.

Since I don't know the answer, you might want to ask these guys.

IIRC, they only affect you if it's a class A or if it's domestic violence. Even with the class A, you'd still be good since it was more than 5 years ago(again, IIRC).

Here is the code on getting a CHL, the restrictions on buying are probably the same.
