Wal Mart selling Lake City in bulk

    Was at the gun range sunday talking to another shooter who let me have about 500rds of his fired Lake City brass for me to reload. He said he had been buying cans of 420rds at Wal Mart. Sure enough the next day I went to a couple of local Wal Marts and sure enough they had 5 cans of Lake City XM855 5.56 with 420rds per can. I snatched up one and went back yesterday to grab another one. The cashier says they started carrying them this month so I will be hitting them hard on payday. It costs $159 per can

    They started here over a month ago at $149 but a couple of weeks ago went to $159. Was there today and they are out. Think our WM now has at least 4 different AR platforms from a DPMS flat-top with no sights to a Sig M4 tricked out a bit with Magpul green furniture. There was no 5.56/.223 ammo left and person I talked with said their warehouse is showing nothing available to order.

    Wal-Mart carriers Federal ammo... which would include bulk packed Lake City fodder. You'd be amazed at what they can order at Wal-Mart.

    I don't think this is the bulk-pack stuff. I haven't seen it at my Walmarts yet, but it sounds like the XM855 on stripper clips in the "thinner" .30 caliber ammo cans.

    I bought a can of this ammo last week from another local store, but haven't had a chance to get out and try it yet. Inside the can, the stripper clips are packed 3 to a cardboard sleeve, extra space in the can is filled with plastic foam pads/blocks, and they include one stripper clip guide per can.

    Really? Where can you find it for less, especially at the $149 that is was a month ago. I looked online before I bought a bunch and did not find any cheaper.

    I'm talking the XM855 62 grain stuff. Please tell me. I found a couple of places that matched that price but at 16 pounds a can shipping was a killer.
