Is this a thing? Or are wadcutters better suited for calibers that use rimmed cases and are most commonly shot through revolvers?

Wad cutter bullets that fit almost flush with the mouth of the case. Are better suited to revolvers. Yes some pistols will fell feed a wad cutter style bullet. Most will feed a semi wad cutter better. Two that I know of that won’t are the Glock 30 and Glock 36. I have been shooting 147gr Bayou bullets in my 9mm guns with no problem that are semi wad cutter shape bullet.

I had issues with even a small step on a bullet I used in 9mm. I sold the mold. I was told later that Glock have issues with this because the ejecting case hits the step and hangs up. You can see how a ejecting round drags on the new one when it ejects. Just work the action slowly (and safely of course).

Unless you are shooting a semi designed for a full WC, like the S&W52, they are just not likely to feed in anything but a revolver. SWC cuts just as clean a hole IMO, & they function in most but not all guns.

I have tried . Semi's work . Fulls work fine as single shot ! That's about it . Don't expect them to feed well . Even if they do expect deformation and inaccuracy.

Same outcome for me in a Glock 23 & 27 but I gave the mold to a friend and the bullet works in his Glock 23

I haven't tried a 9mm SWC, only 125gr LCNs. My main reloading bullet in 40S&W is a 155gr LSWC. I use them exclusively for IDPA comps. I have not had any problems with them whatsoever in my P229. I can't say how they'd run in a Glock.

We have shot up tens of thousands of SWC bullets in the 9MM PARABELLUM cartridge with every success. I'd have to go count but this has to include at least one hundred 9MM pistols starting with the Luger and including EVERY major [ or minor..] 9MM pistol since. No XD.....no M&P...yet...maybe someday...
    And so it goes...

I haven't had much luck with my Glock 21 feeding SWC bullets. Never used them in 9mm.
