I recently ripped a music Cd that I borrowed from a friend. And began to BURN a copy in MP3 format on to a copy cd. When everything went haywire. Is it possible to get a Virus or Trojans from a Music Cd? My pc is still F'ed up.:(

Well, I guess you could say yes. It's not a virus in the traditional sense-it's a program put on the CD by the manufacturer to make it difficult to copy and/or play the CD in a computer (so I guess it's like a trojan). For example, Velvet Revolver's "Contraband" CD has some software on it that makes a copied CD sound like it's skipping. It is relatively easy to defeat-just look on Google.

I got two of these within the past 40 days which the computer guru who fixed them traced to music I had downloaded from Napster. I'm was running XP HE+SP2, NIS 2005, Ad-Watch, Ad-Aware SE, Spybot, Hi jack This etc, ect and nothing caught or would fix them.

I have gone to Firefox now.
