    When you are watching movies off your laptop from netflix, and have the HDMI cable connected to the t.v. Does it go through the video card in the laptop or just straight through? The picture is not that great on the plasma t.v.

    yes, the video card in the laptop generates the image and sends it down the HDMI cable to the hdtv, just like using s-video or an rca video connection (or another monitor for that matter).

    the image quality on the hdtv could be due to a few different things, including the source material.
