So what would people think of Paul Ryan (WI) as our VEEP candidate? Rest here: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/daniel...s_official_paul_ryan_is_being_vetted_for_veep I'm of two minds in this: Politically, Ryan would instantly energize the base, and unlike Palin, attacking his gravitas would be considerably harder, given that he's one of the leading conservative voices of economic policy, and one of the top voices on our side on House Ways & Means. Unlike Romney, almost no one questions Ryan's conservative credentials, and unlike most politicians in DC, Ryan has been fearless tackling the tough issues that need tackling. Trivial note; the Romney/Ryan ticket has a cute alliteration. On the other hand, Ryan does nothing to shore up Romney's foreign policy. Also, while Ryan energizes the Right, he's also just as likely to fire up the hard-Left. In addition, Congressmen/Senators typically fare poorer in executive positions than Govenors/Mayors, so there may be some question how effective he'd be as an executive. Also, even if all this is handled, replacing Ryan's fiscal steadfastness in the House wouldn't be easy; an argument could be made that he's more valuable to the conservative cause where he is, instead of VPOTUS.
