They are calling it the TRAVON AMENDMENT!?!

Democrats in the US House of Representatives are pushing an amendment to strip states from having Castle Doctrine/Stand Your Ground type laws. Further if the states refuse to comply then the bill would withhold Federal funding from going to the states.

Link to FULL story => http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/may/8/house-vote-trayvon-amendment/

You will notice that "deaths due to self-defense have tripled" but it doesn't bother to indicate in the article if those were JUSTIFIED.

Yep, these scumbags will probably try push this through on the logic of South Dakota v. Dole. But then again, they are Democrats, the same folks who brought us the Ku Klux Klan and the most oppressive campaign to keep firearms out of the hands of freedmen in the 1800's. It's also worth noting that during that time period, the NRA was staunch advocate and supporter of african americans owning firearms, which the Dems were vehemently against. But nobody hardly ever talks about that.

  3. It should be legal to shoot lawmakers to stand your Constitutional ground.

that is ridiculous. all states need some kind of "stand your ground law" that and the ability for law abiding citizens from any state to carry to any other state.

Absolutely its going to die. But it certainly shows how low the anti-gun Democrats are willing to stoop to disarm law abiding people.

Why would they be upset about justified self defense shootings? The article clearly states they are concerned about the fact that the laws have led to an increase in self-defense shootings. How is that bad? Yet they want to prevent exactly that from happening!

People that cannot protect themselves are in fear and depend on the government for protection. Why would the Demorats want to eliminate self-defense? Dependant people are easier to control.

Just goes to show they will never give up! This is exactly why we as gun owners can NEVER COMPROMISE again! They want to legistlate a basic right of every American away. Just more proof they are as anti-American as they are anti-gun!:steamed: Besides the fact that the SCOTUS has already ruled that every American has the right of selfdefense!

It's like red phase of basic training all over again ... one person is stupid (or perceived stupid), we ALL pay.

Telling people they HAVE to retreat in their own homes or on their own private property is disgusting, plain and simple.

Well one thing we did get from Roberts in the Obama Care ruling, the federal gov can not withhold funds already allocated, congress threatened to withhold already allocated medicaid funds if the states did not expand their medicaid programs.

The ruling said congress could not do that, so the congressional black caucus can stomp and threaten all they want, but they can't withhold already allocated funds.

That was before Roberts turned traitor. The DemoRATS have been reinvigorated with hope that their socialistic dream can now be reached. And with good reason. It's not a tax so it's unconstitutional so the Scots turned it into a tax so they could rule that it IS constitutional. I wonder what they, the Scots, will "wright" into the next anty-gun rulings to make them "constitutional". It's not an infringement it's a "reasonable restriction".

Wait till they get their hands on the personal information on all Americans.

They got their panties in a twist when their personal information was put through their insurance system. One leak and their in the light.

Gun owners are in their sights. They know it is what stands between them and absolute power over citizens.

This country got bent over and if this election does not go the right way, we will be their subjects. Sad.

Not sure what the statistics are, but I'd be willing to bet that while deaths due to self defense have tripled, deaths due to violent crimes have gone down...

There is no wondering necessary. If you own a firearm, you merely have to pay several magnitudes more for your (now mandatory under law) medical insurance. Your medical insurance premiums are now considered taxes under law. That they are collected by giant private corporations is just a minor detail that shouldn't seem troubling in any way.

OTOH, you could opt to have the Department of Homeland Security sweep your home--under the auspices of the Safe Homes Czar--and have it declared to be firearms-free. In which case you may become eligible for an "Earned Firearms-Free Safe Home Credit*" on your income tax. After all, an unarmed citizen is doing society a great favor by helping to eliminate the medical costs associated with gun violence. Good citizens are entitled to other people's money. It's in the Constitution and stuff. Just ask Roberts.

Under the ACA ruling, there is absolutely no law that can be found unconstitutional, provided that said law contains a real--or implied--tax. Some folks believe that their elected representatives will deny themselves that kind of infinite power over their fellow human beings. To which I can only say
