Just saw a round butt 3-inch heavy barrel (10-8).
Beautiful condition (98%+) BUT the asking proce was a painful $419!
Was this version rare or is the price just jacked up?

I never saw a Three in. If it is near perfect it doesn't sound outrageous. New Four in. are way out there. I would offer less and see what they say.

Don't think they are rare. I bought one in 1983 (police trade in) from John Jovino Co. They were $138.95 at the time. I spent $42 on it adding a target hammer and combat trigger. A friend was so taken with it he talked me out of it. Wish I had it back. That was a 98% piece.

3 inch k frames in general are unusual maybe not exactly rare- but for every 100 4 inch and 100 2 inch guns you see maybe one 3 inch. That price does not seem out of line in a market where 4 inch guns are now bringing 300
