Tungsten Guide Rod

    On a T-guide rod, when the springs go bad can they be replaced or do you need to buy another assy. My son was asking and I said I would ask here/good question.

    Yes, you can replace the spring. There's a screw and washer on the end that is removable.

    Do you put any blue loctite on the screw if you remove it.

    LWD recommends using blue loctite. I can't think of a good reason not to.

    The first few times you DO replace the spring on the rod, have your son around to assist. Reinstalling that screw while keeping the spring compressed using only TWO available hands is an acquired skill.

    I tried without using loctite. It will unscrew. I used a vice grip on the other side to clamp down and the allen to tighten. Stuck like glue.
