Hi folks, I'm looking to pick up a P2000 (in 40 S+W) and I'd appreciate some feedback as to which trigger version to get. I had kinda made up my mind to get the v3 DA/SA version but I keep hearing how much the LEM is liked.

Which version do you have and do you like it???? Is the DA/SA a good trigger???

    Thanks for the input.

i prefer the lem. the da/sa is not a target trigger. it will smooth some after lots of rounds downrange but out of the box it does what it is designed to, make the gun go bang when it is pulled. there is a gunsmith that works wonders with hk triggers, Bill Springfield. he can smooth up the da/sa for under 100.00.

the lem is a long, smooth stroke like a da revolver but for subsequent shots it has a short reset so it is not a true dao. search my posts here, i made a post detailing the proper way to shoot (and dry fire practice) with the lem. there is info here and on the hkpro forums.

maybe you can find someone in your area with a lem variant and/or da/sa you can try. people here and on hkpro are helpful in that regard. either way you should be happy with your purchase.

    What do you currently shoot?

SIGs, Beretta, FNP, etc.- Go V3 DA/SA

Glock, XD, M&P etc- Go V2 LEM

    Then go V3 DA/SA. It's almost a no brainer. :)

Thanks for the help fellas. A v3 it is, I understand that this can be converted to a LEM if I don't get on with it.
Now to buy one, the fun part.

You can convert the V3 to V2, but recognize that it's not a conversion authorized by HK. Will almost certainly void the warranty.

The issue is the difference between the V2 and V3 frame, which has a cut-out for the rear mounted decocker. The V2 (LEM) frame doesn't have the cut-out.

The v.3 DA is very stiff feeling at first, with a lot of stacking at the end. Dry fire with a snap cap will help, as this trigger works well being staged.

Once I got the hang of it, I can shoot my P2000sk as well as my larger pistols.

It feels stiff, but works really well when you become accustomed to it.

If you can find someone or someplace that has them both, try it first.

My original USP Compact came in DA/SA/Safety/Decock, or as they say in USP parlance, V1. When the LEM came out, I bought a kit, and switched mine over. Hated it, lowered the trigger pull by swapping springs. Hated it. Put it back into V1. I don't mind the first DA pull, I love the SA trigger.

When it came time to but a P2000, I chose the V3 (DA/SA/Decock) version as well because I just do not like the LEM. I hate the DAO.

My neighboring department issues the full size USP in .45 DAO. Their officers hate it, they were not allowed to get the DA/SA version so a bunch of them bought LEM kits and I switched them over. They like it a little better, but policy states they have to have a DAO type trigger. My department doesn't specify that and says only, "No carrying of weapons cocked and locked", so my V1 Usp compact and V3 P2000 are just fine.

I just bought a USP Compact in .45, V1. Planning on getting an HK45C in DA/SA also.

Try it first before you buy. With the USP series, it's easy to switch the parts back and forth, haven't tried with the P2000 yet.
